Typically a Hoist Ring will be threaded into a hole, torqued, and then used to make a lift. What happens if what you’re attempting
Each time we go into any facility that uses Hoist Rings I ask what brands they are currently using. Honestly, most times
When you think of Codipro Hoist Rings, some key words come to mind, Quality, Availability, Affordability, Innovation, and now traceability through our Coditracer app. What is Coditracer?
CODITRACER is a traceability tool that ensures the traceability of the ring in each step of its way: in the production of the raw material, in the assembly of the ring, in its distribution and in its use.
Based on Blockchain technology it ensures you that when you buy a Codipro Hoist Ring, you’re getting a Codipro Hoist Ring. No fakes, no knock offs, you’re getting the real deal.
How does this work? If you visit www.codipro-usa.com, Click on the Coditracer tab, (There is a brief 3 minute animated video showing how this works also on the main screen.) enter the individual serial number from the hoist ring (250821 0016 ex: shown), hit enter. You’ll see the following:
On the left side you’ll see the Serial Number, the Type, the WLL at 4:1 and 5:1, and the Torque rating.
On the right side you’ll fine the Instruction manual, Technical Data sheet, Lift Angle Chart, Inspection guidelines, Certificate of Conformity, and any video’s that may be available for the Hoist Ring…all available for download.
It’s worth noting, aside from the online version, Coditracer is also available in App form thru the Apple App store or Google Play store. Having access to these documents at your fingertips whether on your phone or tablet is truly a gamechanger.
In the past, Codipro shipped each Hoist Ring in a plastic bag with Use Recommendations and a Certificate of Conformity. The bag and paperwork were often tossed away when the Hoist Ring would be put into service. With well over 100,000 Hoist Rings produced per year, going paperless is a huge environmental feat as well. In the past, lifts have been interrupted or postponed due to not having the paperwork needed to make a lift. With Coditracer, these documents can be accessed quickly and won’t hold up any lifts. Truly a gamechanger.
The other thing that Coditracer offers…..and no other Hoist Ring on the market does…..you can register for a 7 year manufacturers warranty on all standard Hoist Rings. Click on the Warranty//Authenticity Request and fill out the following:
**The warranty does not come automatically with each Hoist Ring, only when you register for the warranty through the Coditracer portal or app.
Coditracer is unique and comes at no added cost. Simply put in the serial number and have access to all this information at your fingertips. Just another item that solidifies Codipro as the Hoist Ring Experts. For more information about Coditracer or any product offered thru Codipro USA, please contact Jim 724-493-2755 firstname.lastname@example.org or Ben 281-795-2608 email@example.com.
Usually when making a lift or utilizing a lift plan, the last item thought of or purchased are Hoist Rings. I’m not sure why, but I assume people just think they’ll be readily available and when issuing a PO, they’ll arrive quickly. Many end users of Hoist Rings are realizing that isn’t always the case in the last year or so. Why is this? Many Hoist Ring manufacturers, when asked to quote, are giving lead times of 16 to 20 weeks or more for standard items. The pandemic can be blamed for some of this in that the raw materials needed to make Hoist Rings aren’t always readily available. This is a huge inconvenience for the Hoist Ring users. It can hold up projects, delay lifts, and ultimately cost them a lot of time and money. When this happens there are really only two options to consider….bite the bullet and wait, or try to find a suitable alternative that IS available and comparable to what they need.
This is where Codipro USA comes in. Seeing trends within the Hoist Ring market in the US, Codipro USA made the choice to up our inventory to provide an alternative and eliminate lead time issues that Customers and Distributors have been facing. We have a huge inventory of UNC and Metric Hoist Rings on the shelf. We meet or exceed many of our competitors when it comes to WLL, Torque Rating, and overall weight of the unit. But MOST importantly, we have Hoist Rings that are available. We regularly get calls asking us to cross reference our Hoist Rings with other brands that are experiencing long lead times. When we’re able to deliver, it helps the distributor and the end user of our products. The distributor often looks like a hero who goes above and beyond to solve their customers issues, and ultimately a happy customer is everyone’s goal. If you’re faced with this situation, you can wait, or you can act. Call Codipro and offer an alternative to your customer today, we’re here to talk your call or email.
“Using a Hoist Ring if the hole isn’t threaded, Our Double Centering option.”
Typically a Hoist Ring will be threaded into a hole, torqued, and then used to make a lift. What happens if what you’re attempting to lift has a hole, but that hole isn’t threaded?
The above listed scenario can cause a lot of safety issues, meaning unsafe lifting practices are used. We’ve seen J Hooks inserted and lifting using the tip. This is beyond unsafe and puts too much pressure on the tip that isn’t rated for lifting, and can bend or break. We’ve also come across many “Homemade” applications. Again, not rated for lifting and a clear OSHA violation. The most common “solution” is to use a hoist ring as close to the hole diameter you can get, and to put a nut and washer on the bottom. The problem with this scenario is that if the bolt is not firmly against the outer diameter of the hole, this might eventually lead that bolt to bend.
Codipro’s solution is to provide a certified, serialized, lifting solution, THE Double Centering. Let’s say what you’re lifting weighs 15,000 pounds, the unthreaded hole is 12 inches deep and the hole diameter is 3 inches. With our Double Centering, instead of the bottom of the Hoist Ring being flat, we’d use a raised portion that would be 3 inches in diameter and it would countersink into the hole. On the bottom side, we’d offer a centering washer w/ a nut. We can make the bolt whatever length we need to get thru the hole and leave enough thread on the bottom side to accept the Centering washing and a nut. Fully customizable based on weight of the load, hole diameter, and bolt length needed.
The next time you’re faced with this scenario, please remember Codipro-USA and our Double Centering solution. Please keep in mind, being that these are a special, 1 off, lifting solution, lead time would run roughly 15-20 days. As stated earlier, all are individually serialized and come w/ a certificate of conformity. An approved, certified, lifting solution adds safety and peace of mind that a safe lift can be made without anyone being hurt. Safety should always be a priority, and Codipro’s Double Centering provides just that. www.codipro-usa.com
“Customer Service and Our Commitment to you.”
One thing that has and always will differentiate Codipro USA from other companies is our commitment to customer service. We take this very seriously and our results show. In today’s world, when you put thru an inquiry on someone’s website and fill out a form, you expect a call or email. Speaking for me personally, I rarely receive even an acknowledgement that a form was submitted, let alone a call or email. Codipro USA has always been extremely different in this regard. When you call us, email us, or fill out an inquiry form on www.codipro-usa.com, you can expect the following:

- Recommendations on what product will best solve your need or provide you with the safest lifting solution that we can offer.
- A cross reference and explanation why our Hoist Rings are different than what they may be currently using.
- We provide data sheet and/or 3D drawings if required
- We’ll place you with one of our knowledgeable Distributors. As a reminder we don’t sell direct, all of our sales are done thru distribution.
- And maybe most importantly, we’ll provide our emails and cell phone numbers. We want all Codipro customers to feel comfortable calling us at any time with any questions or concerns they may have. 100% accessible always- Truly what makes Codipro-USA different.
Our commitment to our customers and our accessibility is more of a “Hands On” approach, different and not what some may be used to. “What is a Swivel Hoist Ring?”
When people hear the word “Swivel Hoist Ring” they instantly think “Hoist”. A Swivel Hoist Rings is a lifting device that is far different than a Hoist. A Swivel Hoist Ring is a below the hook lifting device that is screwed into a machined hole. A Swivel Hoist Rings basically consists of 3 parts, a shackle or Bail, A collar, and a bolt. The Bolt consists of a threaded portion that can be screwed into a hole to make a lift. The Shackle or Bail portion is used to attached the Hoist Ring to a crane hook, nylon sling, chain sling, or wire rope sling. The Collar is where the internal components are, some have bearings, or an internal Grease to help them move and turn. Codipro Hoist Rings have an Anti-Tribalcorrosion grease, no bearings.
What makes a Hoist Ring unique is the ability to move and turn 360 degrees and 180 degrees. It’ll self align with the sling angle and can be used to lift heavy weights. Swivel Hoist Rings typically have a much higher WLL (Working Load Limit) than standard eyebolts or shouldered eyebolts. This is beneficial when you have heavier weights to lift, plus it adds a layer of safety. Eye Bolts typically bend or break over time and they are thrown away, unable to be fix or repaired. Hoist Rings can be repaired.
When making a lift with an eyebolt, unless it is a true vertical lift, you run the risk of the WLL being de-rated. Codipro Hoist Rings have been tested in both vertical and side load orientations. Based on those test results Codipro provides a load angle chart that will give you the total weight to lift based on the lifting configuration. See below:
The last component for the proper use of a Hoist Ring is adhering to the tightening torque on the unit. By torquing the Hoist Ring, you’re ensuring that the threads are properly engaged adding to the overall safety advantage that a Hoist Ring provides. “Codipro Hoist Rings DO NOT have Clips on the bottom”
Each time we go into any facility that uses Hoist Rings I ask what brands they are currently using.
Honestly, most times they aren’t even sure what they use. Once they show us what they are using, the first question I ask is, “Is there anything you don’t like about these Hoist Rings?” The number 1 answer almost every time is, “I don’t like the clips. They bend and break.” When these clips bend and break, now you need replacement parts.
You also can’t use that Hoist Ring until the new clip is put on, so these are placed out of service. (One factory had 2 55 gallon drums full of Hoist Ring parts.) Factor in the time needed to “fix” the Hoist Rings once the replacement parts arrive and you’re talking wasted time, wasted energy, wasted money, and loss of productivity. When do I mention these clips? Codipro doesn’t have clips.
The bottom is flat, makes flush contact, and you don’t have to worry about the clip becoming loose and the Hoist Ring falling apart. It may seem minor, but this is a very important factor when picking out which Hoist Ring brand to use.
Safety and productivity are two of the biggest goals for any Hoist Ring user. Codipro USA offers both with our Hoist Rings.
